What is new.

Every release, newest first.

Version 1.0.1

. An optional, anonymous way to share which version you run. Off until you say yes.

  • New: the Home tab asks once whether to share anonymous version info, and Settings, General, Privacy has the switch. If you say yes, once a day the app sends its version, your macOS version, your chip, whether you are on the trial or licensed, and a random ID. If you say no, nothing is ever sent and the ID is deleted. Exactly what is sent is listed on the privacy page.
  • The website now counts page views and download clicks without cookies or stored IP addresses.
  • Smaller changes: the Now Playing progress bar and the Disk tab spinners are drawn by NotchStar itself, so they look the same everywhere.

Version 1.0.0 stays the first public release.

Version 1.0.0

. The first public release: ten native tools, a 7 day free trial and a $4 license.

First release. Signed, but not yet notarized by Apple, so macOS asks you to confirm the first launch. The install page shows how.

  • Ten tools: Home, Shelf with an AirDrop zone, Clipboard, Calendar and Reminders, Quick Notes, Timers, Teleprompter, Mirror, System Stats and Disk (overview and cleanup, space map, file search, duplicates, app leftovers, photo and video compression, process monitor and a recovered space log, all Trash only).
  • Opens on hover or click. Pin it open, or drag a file toward the notch to open the Shelf.
  • Reorder or hide tools in Settings. Launch at login.
  • Now playing from the system, with real artwork, and an AppleScript fallback for Music and Spotify.
  • A floating pill on Macs without a notch.
  • VoiceOver labels and Reduce Motion support.
  • 7 day free trial, then a license for up to 3 Macs. Works offline after activation.
  • Universal build for Apple silicon and Intel. There is no automatic updater yet, so check this page for new versions.
